My pictures of life on and by the road in Northern India record the colour and contrasts of this amazing place, where strong traditions co-exist amidst a burgeoning modernity. People with pride and purpose who, like the chaotic traffic all around, only seek to push forward into whatever space and opportunity can be found.

The pictures were all taken on journeys between Delhi, Agra, and Shimla in 2010.
